Learning Track Advisory Report

What's the Project?

Write a report and create an example of a potential learning track presentation. These examples will be used to advise us on the development of our Resources program.

Project Requirements

  • Choose any discrete technical task that you have used online resources to teach yourself how to do. Some examples include making a gif with an online service, making a gif with something like Photoshop, making a gif with Python, or any other task with any other tool.

  • Use the existing Notion app to build a list of resources (and any supplemental notes about those resources) that you could follow to learn this specific technical skill with a specific approach.

  • Focus on finding resources for the subtasks most immediately related to your goal. List prerequisite skills or tasks as if they already exist in a similar resources list. In other words, if there is a prerequisite skill or task like "installing, starting Python" pretend there is already a set of resources lists made for different approaches to accomplish that, and put a placeholder link to that set of imaginary lists for this demonstration.

  • Use any layout that you would personally find the easiest to follow.

Who should Apply?

  • You should be familiar with Notion.so, or able to pick it up easily enough to be able to satisfy these project requirements.

How have we prepared to make it easy to help?

  • This is a self-reliant, self-paced, and self-directed project. As long as you attempt to satisfy the requirements, we want to encourage you to complete this project in whatever way is easiest for you.

  • No interaction with other volunteers necessary for this project. Once you apply and get the go-ahead, the rest is up to you until you submit your results with our automatic Project Report form.

  • Please ask any questions you have about this project when you apply; your questions will help me make this project post more clear for all subsequent applicants.

  • Use our automated project submission report to submit your results with your thoughts, notes, or any remaining questions you have about this project.

How will we implement your completed work?

  • This project is a small piece of the larger goal of developing our Resources program. Repeating this project with several volunteers is just the first step.

  • Resource Track samples will be tested in future volunteer projects that will be the next steps with our Resources Program development.

  • You will be an official Resources Program contributor after completing this project. We hope you also consider applying to be part of some of the other volunteer projects, too.
